Training

It is the mission of the Training Division to provide state-of-the-art emergency services training, and to hire qualified and diverse employees who will exceed our customers expectations.  Space Coast Regional Fire & Emergency Services offers the finest training programs.  Firefighters throughout the State of Florida come to learn about firefighting techniques and skills in the unique circumstances found in an airport environment.

Aircraft Familiarization

Local firefighters come to learn unique hazards associated with aircraft emergencies.  This hands-on training allows the emergency responders to get up close and personal with various aircraft.  Some assigned aircraft here at Space Coast Regional Airport include:
  • Bell 206
  • Cessna 303 (Crusader) & 337 (Skymaster) Models
  • Piper 31 (Navajo)
  • Robinson R22 & R44 Models
  • Sikorsky S-300C

Live Fire Evolutions

Space Coast Regional Airport Fire & Emergency Services personnel receive their annual 14 CFR Part 139 recertification training in house, however all live fire evolutions are either contracted with Kellogg Community College, South Carolina Fire Academy, or the Fire Academy of the South at Florida State College in Jacksonville, Florida.

ARFF Working Group

The Space Coast Regional Airport ARFF Working Group (ARFFWG) meets for 14 CFR Part 139 recurring training on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.  Additionally the ARFFWG meets on the 3rd Friday of each month as a workday at ARFF Station #18.
